If you're a dog lover you can understand what I mean because after living with your pet for 8 yrs you can easily get attached. I lost s****. yesterday and if it wasn't for God I would have gone nuts. I missed s****. sorely and I want to do something to pay tribute to my best buddy I ever had. :(

  1. make up a scrap book of some pictures, have a shadow box made of a pic of your dog with his favorite toy, and collar.

You could also donate to your local shelter in his name.

It's hard losing a pet, just remember the good times that put a smile on your face.

  2. Plant a tree.... how appropriate

    SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS!

  3. I know that when I was kid, my parents and I would do something special each time we lost a dear family pet.  First we would have a family picnic out by our rose garden and talk about memories and say a prayer.  After that, we would bury the little ones and then plant a brand new rose bush on top.  That way, whenever it bloomed, we would call them "----'s roses".

It is a very sweet memorial, I think, and if you're going to be living in the same place, it will bring happiness for a long time.  And if you move, you can always take the rosebush with you.  It is a great memorial.

  4. First off I just want to let you know how very sorry I am to hear about the loss of your family member..I like you am a HUGE dog lover so I totally understand how you are feeling right now. For true dog lovers the animal becomes more than just a pet it becomes actual family..

As far as doing something in tribute to s****. there are several things you can do..Like the first person to answer said you could plant a tree in his honor, You could get a small monument(even if you didn't bury him) with his name and picture on it to place in your yard, with beautiful flowers planted around it making a small memorial garden type place..,You could get a picture of him matted and framed in a nice frame to put on a wall with pictures of you other family members.Maybe have the matt engraved with his name, dob and date of death..

Another thing you could think about doing is after a period of time you could check into getting a new puppy..No one will ever take s****.'s place in your heart but a new dog could potentially go a long way in filling the hole left by s****.'s passing.. I recommend going to your local animal shelter when  you feel like you are ready(grief is a process) and looking to adopt a new friend..There are SO many unwanted dogs at the shelters that are just waiting for someone to come take them home..You would not only be helping yourself get through this difficult time you would also potentially be saving a life..

My sympathy is with u and my heart goes out for you..I will keep you in my prayers..

  5. I got a tattoo to honor the dog that changed my life, but I understand that a lot of people may not want to do something like that.

I would donate in her honor to your local shelter, and volunteer.

Many people plant a tree to honor their lost pets.

  6. There's a lot of things you can do.  For one thing, you can donate to a local shelter in their name, plant a tree in your yard or have a company plant one along a highway.  You can also make a collage, or a music video of s****.. Just remind yourself that God has a reason for everything.
