  1. fading happens to all frequently laundered items. if you want less effect buy light colored or white bedding. i change sheets like clothes personally, if you like to sleep in the buff they are what your wearing, lol... as for comforter,,, i suggest a duvet cover that can be easily laundered, and cleaning the comforter itself won't need to happen for some time unless a soaking accident happens ;-)

  2. Wash in cold water with a very mild detergent like Woolite. Make sure the sun does not shine on them by keeping the drapes drawn in the daytime.

    ker

  3. Use cold water.

We change and wash our sheets once per week.

We take our comforters to a laundery that has big machines and they wash them for us.  We do this once at the beginning of summer and once at the beginning of winter.

Lots of people do not wash their comforters.  But it makes the bedroom smell so good to keep things washed.

  4. I wash my bedding once sometimes twice a month. In warm water. I use my regular detergent which is powder. I like various brands. I use whatever I have bought. Right now I am currently using purex for myself and SunBlast Vanilla/Lavander for my boyfriend. Once I run out of the purex I will switch to SunBlast. It smaller box for space and cost about 50 cent less. 5 loads extra.
