  1. Don't be bitchy; you can't actually confuse the two; ignoring people IS bitchy, NOT shy, shy is not going up to someone and talking to them when they HAVEN'T said anything to you.  If there really is someone who believes that YOU not saying hi to THEM first is bitchy, they are obviously not worth your time anyway.

  2. I'm like you.

I think the reason people assume that "shy=*****" is because they have preconceived notions.

They're judging you without taking the time to know you.    Most of the time, it's too much work to look beyond the surface and give somebody a chance.

So people take the simple route...they make assumptions and form opinions about your character, personality, etc.    People have called me "weird" and other names because they didn't take the time to know me.     It is sad that as human beings we judge one another this way.   Not everyone is meant to be talkative and extroverted.

What you can probably do is let people see a bit more of who you are.    Don't be somebody you are not just to please others.    Simply try to look more approachable.   Smile a bit, be somewhat cordial and cheerful.   Be pleasant in your own way.   Being an introvert is nothing to be ashamed of.

Just remember to treat others like you want to be treated.   Don't allow people to disrespect you just because you're shy.    Be yourself.

  4. Change your attitude.

    You already know your problem.

  5. I don't see how the two could be confused unless you really DO have 'b*tchy' behavior. I know lots of shy girls and non of them have never come across as being a b*tch to me. Maybe you need to think about what you're doing and how you're acting, then maybe you will see the b*tch in you.

  6. SMILE!

It really makes such a difference.

Even if you don't say much or anything at all a friendly face is what they remember.

Shy people tend to hold their entire body, including face, rigid or at least stiff.  This looks less friendly.  If you smile you will find yourself relaxing and people will respond in a positive manner.

  7. Great question! I have known girls who I thought were stuck up but it turned out they were just shy. After I got to know them they were really sweet. The thing is you need to smile and look happy, when someone talks to you smile a little at them even if you don't really talk. The thing is when you sit there all quiet and look stone faced people will think you are stuck up and not talk to you much. Also guys like me will not have anything to do with you because we think you think you're to good. You need to talk a little and smile and act a little more relaxed. You can even tell people you are shy once you kinda talk to them that way they know you are not being rude. Good luck and I hope this helps you some. =)
