What can I do to remember things quicker and easier?

I'm working at Subway now and today started up front making subs. There is a "cheat sheet" on the window for me to look at, but everyone else has memorized the meat combinations. A co-worker wrote them down for me and I was going to copy them down again, which is a classic trick for memorizing, but does anybody else have any other tricks for memorizing things?

  1. With that kind of job, don't worry about memorizing.  It will come naturally after you do it so many times.

  2. Have you ever tried the Brain Age games for Nintendo DS? If you work it every day, it honestly does help to sharpen your brain!

Otherwise, you have to use silly tricks to remember something.

  3. make a easy device! (not literally) something to help u remember...like a song or a rap, or a poem u can easily remember!

    example: A string

    D string

    g string

    C string

    (for cello)

    easy tool:

    ants ant atn ants

    digging in the dirt

    digging on the ground

    all the way to china.

(dont ask how i learned that)

    u

  4. Try getting a book, looking at a page, and trying to memorize as much as possible on there quickly.  You will find that you will start to memorize more everytime you do it.  Also, saying it over and over should help.

  5. Repeat it to yourself or make a song.  Create flashcards and review until you get it right.  After awhile, you should have it memorized and won't need the sheet.

  6. Trust me, if you haven't worked there long enough give it time and you'll memorize. Trust me. Some customers may get frustrated with you but forget 'em!  Ask them how they were when they first started their job! Lol. And if they were in that big of rush they can cook!
