I recently bought brand new tongue rings for when I get my tongue pierced (this wens). I was wondering, what can I do to sanitize them before I get my tongue pierced and they go in? Because I mean, people have been touching them in the store & such and I don't want those germs...what can i do?

  1. Alcohol.

  2. Use some rubbing alcohol or peroxide.

  3. rubbing alcohol, peroxide, bleach, boil them in water... if you use bleach tho just make sure to wash them off well before you put them in your mouth. good luck

  4. If you're old enough to buy it, Vodka actually works well.  the alcohol in hard liquor will sanitize most things since bacteria and viruses generally can't live in more than about 11% alcohol.  If you're not old enough to buy vodka, you can either ask your parents for a shot for the jewelry, or you can use mouthwash.  With new piercings the mouthwash can cause a little more burn than just alcohol, but in my mind the burn of a sterilized piercing is better than the pain of an infected one.  On a random side note, for tattoos, you don't want to use tropicals for infection, you'll want to go to your doctor for oral antibiotics since topicals tend to bleed the ink of new tatoos.
