What can I do to save Florida?

What can I do on a personal standpoint to save what is natural in Florida? Everyday I watch my state get torn down by developers. What can I do to save the natural environment?

Probably nothing.  It will all be under water within a few decades, when the Greenland Ice Sheet slides into the ocean.

I feel your heartbreak on this one. :(  It's hard to watch the natural places get torn down in the name of 'progress'.

What I would recommend is to work closely with your *local* politicians. Find out who they are. Write to them, call and talk to them. Your representatives are there for you, and if they don't know you're upset, they can't fight for your interests.
