What can I do to stop my girl from watching the c**p on TV?

I get irritated by the stuff she watches on TV only because she does it with our kid. I rarely watch TV apart fro one or two shows and some cable news. I just cant stand the fact that our 3 yr old is exposed to this stuff...at least watch cartoons or some other kids' programs with the dude. He is a oy and watches such grown up stuff with her, im talking shows that is counter productive. I mean I undertsnad we watch things for entertainment purposes and im fine with thatm but watching it incessantly with your kid..not cool. I work all day 12 hrs door to door that I can only control it when I get home. The kid is now so engrossed in this stuff, its almost too late..I can't wait for him to start school, in the meantime whats the solution??

Unplug the television, cut off the cable.

Just turn the t.v off and tell her how you feel about the kind of negative shows she watches.

Lock the TV up till you get home. We lock our TV and Computers up and tell them to read books, play games or be useful and clean the house. LOL, I must be a bad parent. TV is a privilege. I use to just remove the cable box and leave them with approved DVD's. But the teenager was able to get some DVD's from her friends. So, no TV at all while the parents are away/ working.
