What can I do to stop others from scratching and denting my bumper?

I just got a new car and drive it around the city and got a dent with a scratch today from someone bumping it too hard. What can I do to stop this from happening. I was thinking of getting one of those license plate frames with spikes around it so others would be afraid of bumping it. Any other suggestions?

park at the very end parking space and take up two spaces i drive a 2002 yukon looks like new.and if all else fails buy a gun!

put olive oil on your car so when other cars hit it they will slide off.

the plate frame w/ spikes is a good idea, but u can't stop people from scratching or denting ur car, it could happen any time.

get a huge sticker that says don't touch this car cause it is close to running you over, i don't care how big or small i am i will run you over, lol

you HAVE TO put a glass of water on ur car. then when they come you eat them and drink the water with it.

Tough the spikes sound good i believe there is 1 other solution depending on where u live try putting a big athletic team bumper sticker on or something like that.(Yankees or red sox or other teams like that. That is what i think anyway!

The reality is that there's nothing you can do if this is a daily driver for you. When I first bought my last car I went through the same thing. Try parking away from other cars, and make sure the parking stall is wide enough to get doors open all the way. Keep garaged if you can?
