What can I do when I press "Mail" on iPhone and screen closes and goes to home screen?

It used to go to email but suddenly it stopped. I have checked all my settings and it seems ok. The strange thing is it doesn't even take me to setup email account but just closes down and goes to Homescreen. I have tried restoring my phone and it doesn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

A simple restore should work. Just plug your phone into iTunes and hit restore. It will ask if you want to back up your phone because it will erase everything. After that, it will reload the software, and start itself up.

When it is done, it will automatically ask you if you want to restore the backup to the phone, and the mail program should work.

If that doesn't work, go see the Genii at the Genius Bar and they will swap out the phone provided it is under applecare still.
