What can I do with French Francs? Is it to late to change them to Euros?

I recently found lots of French Francs that I forgot I had and am wondering what I can do with them.

  1. I think you can take the paper money to the bank to convert it to euros.  The coins would make great jewelry, which you could probably sell on ebay or keep for yourself.  That's what I did with my left over Italian lire.

  3. Any customer with old French banknotes may:

    - send his French banknotes before 17/02/2012 for current series of banknotes by registered mail to : Banque de France, Caisse Générale, Service 18, 10 Boulevard Duclaux, 63407 Chamalières Cedex - France to exchange against euro banknotes if the amount is less than up to 5000EUR.

    The amount will be rounded at the lower 5EUR unit and a postal fee may be charged according to the amount and to the destination country.

    NOTE:  Coins are not allowed.

  4. normally the french post office doesn't accept banknotes ,phone to the french ambassy or consulat
