What can I do with a $150 Gift Card to a Restaurant?

It was given to us as a gift. It is to a ritzy restaurant downtown and although we'd love go there, we would not only have to spend about $100 extra of our money just to eat there, we would love to have the cash and go on 3 less expensive dates, then one big one.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful. Any ideas?

Save the gift card and the $100 in a safe place for that one big night. In the meantime go for a few smaller dates. Maybe places that are nice and small yet inexpensive so when you both go to that ritzy place you will impress him/her.

And off course it is not ungrateful to think like that. It is only sensible right?

Sell your gift card on ebay.

Well, you can check out your local craigslist, and try to barter or sell it.   www.craigslist.org .  You could also post an ad locally to sell it....  or trade it. Do an online search, I remember hearing about a site where you can trade gift cards...  Sounds like a really expensive restaurant!!! Good Luck

Usually the seller will not refund, as they want their high profit margin, which you have just locked in, and the fact that they are holding (and using) your money until (or if) you go in to use the gift.

You could try selling it for less - for example advertise it for $125.

Or Pay it Forward - re-gift!

well if its to expensive to eat there why dont you just go with your friends and order some drinks. so this way you get to use the gift card and if your bill goes over the 150 it really shouldn't go over by to much.

You can give it as a gift to someone....wait until your anniversary to go...sell it on ebay...or if you know someone like a coworker who likes ritzy restaurant ask her if she would like to buy it maybe a bit cheaper?
