What can I do with a 3rd in Biomedical Sciences degree?

  1. You've still got a degree though. Some pharmaceutical firms will ask for a 2.1 or above, but a lot of university or NHS research departments only ask for a first degree.

    Depends on what you want to do. Working as a research assistant in a university would be possible (for research assistants in our dept, we typically only ask for a first degree, and dont specify what type of degree).

    Working as a biomedical scientist / MLSO (I presume) would still be possible.

    Then there's project management work as well.

    A 3rd isnt as bad as all that.


  2. Could you resit? Universities will usually let you do more study so long as you give them more money.

    Or do a completely new degree?

    Don't reduce yourself to a few numbers on a piece of paper from one moment in your life.
