What can I do with an Associate of Arts degree?

Okay, I am almost finished with my core classes and after this semester I can transfer to any University in the state (Texas). So I think I have decided which school I want to go to and go into the social work program. Anyway, my original plan was to just transfer from my community college to a University and get my Bachelors degree. I never considered getting an associates. I found out that to get an associates from my community college I only need one more semester of classes to get that. So I decided to go ahead and stay here for one more semester so I can get an associates of arts degree to get a better job while still in college. My question is, what kind of jobs could I get with that while I'm still in school? Right now I am the typical struggling college student and work at JCPenney which doesn't pay enough, I need something better and I sure have tried to find something but can't. Any suggestions are appreciated! =] thanks!

  1. You might be able to work with a temp agency part time. Almost any fill-in job they would have for an AA grad would pay better than JCPenney. On the other hand, I think your two years of college would be just as good a qualification in any type of administrative job, so that you could go on directly to your baccalaureate in social work without spending an extra semester to get the AA degree. That is pretty much for someone who doesn't plan to transfer on.
