  1. A bunch of things..im sure you could work for a firm. A  lot of firms are looking for people.  There are so many jobs out there including those that deal with financial accounts, accounting, investors, analysts. etc.  Those that invest in stocks and all would be a great place to work at (you are planning on having a Finance major so that works :D).  You can also work for nonprofits (I'm sure they need someone to help keep track of their accounting and other jobs) or you can work as a writer.  You plan on having minor in writing I see. So that works out :) you could be a financial writer..like for a big company or something- something that publishes stuff (magazines, newspapers- oh you could work for a newspaper as a financial reporter).  I suggest you intern at some places to see what things are like, see if you like it, gain experience, and increase your contacts and networking.  You could work in politics too.  There are many jobs that would like to have students who have done economics/studied it before.  You could work as a staff member on a um team of staff members for an elected official.  Or you could work on a committee (legislative one) specifically one that involves economics.  Perhaps there is a department of budget or finance in your state- you could try those areas.  You could work for a research group- though they may require some higher education- but check with them.  Lastly you could try to work for a university/university bosses- in California they call them UC Regents..and you could work for them to help them with their budget- hope I helped ya.

  2. At your age an economics degree on its own is probably not enough. If you take economics through to post graduate level and pehaps persue a Masters or a PHd by research academia may have a place for you. I strongly recommend completing accounting qualifications to complement the economics and finance. The you will be dangerous. You will have life long skills that can be used anywhere in the world. Good luck young man.

  3. It really depends on where you go to school.  Econ degree from nowhere school means very little, but if it's from a top 20 uni, you can go into consulting, management, i-banking, politics....pretty much anything.
