  1. Best on hot toast or an english muffin. I have also put it in chocolate cake recipe or even a regular chocolate cake mix.  Also add to cookies, apple pie filling, homemade pudding and then whipped for a mousse type dessert,  spread some over a fresh pork roast or a ham...the apple butter and the juice from the ham makes an awesome glaze....

Once you get started you will find one jar isn't enough...LOL

  2. Sweet  apple spice cake

    1 tbsp butter or margarine

    1 cup apple butter

    3/4 tbsp canola oil

    1/2 cup raisins

    1/2 cup butter milk

    1 egg 2 tsp vanilla

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

2 tsp cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, baking powder, and all spice

    1/4 tsp salt

    Hope this helps.

  3. what can't you do with apple butter might be an easier question!

  4. It has the same use as jelly. The taste is probably an acquired one though so you might want to make sure you enjoy it before slathering a bunch on some toast.

  5. Put it on real buttery toast instead of jelly.

    Same with biscuits, pancakes.

    Even plain soda crackers.

    Very good stuff

  6. put it on some bread and eat it!! thats the best stuff on earth!!!!

  7. put it on toast!

  8.    I think what I would do is get a yellow or even a spice cake mix and make it according to the package(make 2or 3 layers).  If you make 2  8 or 9 inch layers split the layers in half.  Divide apple-butter equally between the layers and then cover it with Caramel Icing.  You can buy already made icing or here is a recipe I have used for years.

    NEVER FAIL CARAMEL ICING

    1 stick margarine or butter

    1 cup packed brown sugar

    1/4 cup milk

    2 cups confectioners sugar

Place confectioners sugar in a medium size mixing bowl, set aside.  In a small pot melt butter or margarine, add brown sugar and bring to a boil.  Add milk.  Bring up to a boil and boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.  When cool to the touch pour into mixing bowl containing confectioners sugar and beat until smooth.  If it seems to be a little stiff for you can add a little more milk.

Note:   You can speed up the cooling process by placing pot in a bowl of ice.  Make sure to stir occasionally until mixture is cool.

Good luck , whatever you decide to do.  Oh, have fun with your baking!!!!!!!

  9. Try it on apple pie.lol

  10. Put it on top of pork chops........on toast......in oatmeal, on ice cream, on fried chicken (use as a dip)....use as a sort of chutney when eating curry foods like chicken.
