What can I do with clothing that is completely worn out, without it ending up in a landfill?

  2. the trash that causes polution in landfills is not clothes ,it is organic trash mixed with the rest that rots and become breeding grounds for bacteria .

    and bad rubbish like torch batteries

  4. I generally wear my clothes until they fall apart.  As the clothes get shabbier and shabbier I delegate them to less formal more dirty work roles.

    Then when tears and holes make them utterly useless in performing their duty of covering my body, they have a wonderful after-life as rags in my shop and around the house.

    (Suits and dress clothes that usually go out of style before I can wear them out and would look silly worn while cutting the grass or changing the oil in my truck go to the Salvation Army.)
