I was thinking of maybe roaching it, but then i was thinking maybe i'd just let it grow out until it looked better...

  1. I  think it looks good as it is. I don't think that roaching it would make it come thicker and I think you would regret it if you did it.

  2. i like his mane long, but if you want it longer and healthier, roaching wouldn't help, actually it will make his hair look like a mohawk for quite a while, then it will fall on both sides, and i don't like that look on my horses. if you want it longer and healthier, braid it (just normal braids, like 8-10 or so of them), then take them out and wash it like every week. it will help his hair to grow healthier, because it won't get the weak spots. if you want to do his hair for like shows you could try  french braiding, or banding it and leaving it long (he doesn't look like a short-hair-horse). you could also do a diamond banding thing, like some of the arab people do. you can look it up on google images.

  3. i personally prefer long mane/tail on horses so it wouldn't be fair to ask me...

  4. I don't see a problem with it now!? Don't put it in braids because you want your horse to still  be comfortable. Why don't you pull the mane long?!

  5. Roaching is really nice looking on horses but my opinion i would just wait till it grows a bit more it won't show as much length when you roach it from what length it looks in the pictures meaning it will look really short. A lot of people prefer longer manes though. You could try braiding it if your bored or give him dreadlocks lol (joking about dreadlocks)

    Just my opinion though :)

    Goodluck

    p.s. your horse i beautiful

  6. I would let it grow out so it will match that glorious tail he's got!! And yes,he is adorable!

  7. Seeing as your horse is a saddle type, i wouldnt roach it because ideally you want a long flowing mane on them, along with their tail.

His tail looks pretty good by the way.

I board at an almost all arab barn and some have manes like his, and it just takes some time to grow out.

Which would be another downside to roaching it, it would just take even longer to grow out than it would in its current state.

    Put some M-T-G on it.

That stuff works wonders (even though it stinks) haha.

    Good Luck

    and your horse is gorgeous.

  8. I'm a bit biased, as I like a long mane!   His mane looks great already, I'd let it grow.  As for coming in thicker when roaching, I haven't found this at all.  However, I only roached once, and it seemed to take years for my guy to get a full mane back!  I have used MTG with great results in thickening up the mane though.  It smells awful but works really well.  If you just want it short once in a while just do a running braid on him.  Beautiful boy!!

  9. i would just let it grow out try useing MTG it needs used once a week on dry manes and tails it is an oil

  10. One more vote for patience and MTG!

  11. I prefer a longer main on a saddle horse my self. I would trim the ends just a bit to make it even, and to get rid of the dry ends, but that's about it. If you give him a bath, I would also use some main and tail on his main and tail to make it more shiny and soft. It may grow a little better that way too.

       Good luck.
