We have Verizon FiOS TV, Internet, and phone service. I know the Motorola QIP2500-3 (basic STB with guide) has a coax eithernet connection (MoCA) but what can I do with this besides pinging?

Can I change channels or access some special features through it? I'm sure there's something I can do if Verizon can remotely order it to reset/reflash when there's a problem but how?

  1. Not much as its network is closed and the security is most likely embedded into the box itself.  Once disco'ed the box shuts down all outbound communication and will not allow any outbound communication until a lnk is reestablished to the fios head end
