We live in a rural area, so there isn't really much to take her to. She likes to watch t.v. alot, but I don't want that to be all she does. I can't take her out in the yard because we live in the country and I am terrified of snakes.

  1. my daughter is 21 months old and I'm also trying to come up with things to keep her busy.  Aside from tv and movies, we play with legos, have a tea party, color, her new favorite thing to do is paint. I bought her some washable watercolor paints and she has been having a blast with that. I've also made her playdoh I found the recipe online and we use inexpensive plastic cookie cutters to make shapes, she has fun with that too.

  2. Come up with some sort of daily schedule. Start with wake-up time, breakfast, etc... and go through the day. That will give you a focus and keep her from watching too much TV. There are lots of things to do though. You can get a bike and get a baby seat for the back and take nice bike rides. You can get a swing set for her. Go on nature walks, do crafts, play games, color, draw, play playdoh,play dress-up, play with toys, cook together. There are so many things you could do with her! There is a great website too that is called Familyfun.com  It has TONS of great ideas.

  3. -read!

    -sing songs, dance to music;

    -get a childproof tape-recorder and children's tapes

    Our sons enjoy popping tapes in and out and playing

    and listening to them

    -follow and cook a simple recipe together/involve child with making sandwiches, pulling grapes off stem, etc. invest in some children's cook books

    -build with blocks;

    -blow bubbles;

    -plant in pots or outdoor garden

    Hope these ideas helped! My boys love them and they are perfect for rainy days as well!

  4. It is the same for my son. I brought one of those small bouncy castles, fold away tunnels, and a few other obstacles for him to play with, and we mess around with that, I also Brought him a water box as he enjoys playing with the water, and it came with little boats and cars, and you can flip it over when he is done and it has a road track on the other side. I limited TV to in the mornings and the afternoons. Brought a few cheap sing a long Cd's for him to listen to. Which he loves. Also we watch a Disney cartoon, finding nemo is his favourite at the moment, but i think its also because he loves to snuggle under the covers with mummyy and home made pop corn.

    I brought lots of cheap crayons and pens and a massive roll of cheap paper, and taped it to the kitchen table and we do drawings and paintings.

    Reading also he loves. But you just have to find a schedule that suits you, Maybe go for walks? Are there any places you can kick a ball about that's safe?

  5. Snakes live virtually everywhere so don't use that. Unless there are lots of poisoness snakes i  your area. You could try putting mothballs around your yard that will discourage snakes from frequenting your yard. Also, snakes won.t be moving around much in the heat of the day.

  6. how about a board game or a game of hide and seek
