We are celebrating my mom's 60th birthday over brunch at a restaurant. Most of the time its fairly boring; we eat and leave. I want to do something special for her since all her daughters, sons, grandkids and friends will be joining us. Any suggestions??

  1. Do a fun quiz and the person who answers the most questions correctly wins something.  Quesions like...

What was moms favorite band growing up.

    What is her favorite color?

    What is her favorit pastime?

    Favirite food?

and then have everyone write down their best memory with her and you can do a small book or something.

You could get a photo album and put your favorite of yall and then your favorite memory under the photo.  You can do this for each person in the family.

(Make sure she answers the quiz herself so you have the answers there and you can check them at the table.)

  2. can you compile a family heirloom scrap book to give to her?( like a page of the grandkids like when you were together last and of you and  your mom page etc that would be a nice gift.

  3. Get her a boa (the feathery thing that people put around their shoulders) and a Crown and name her Princess or Queen of the day and Put her at the head of the table.

Ask everyone to come up with one thing that makes her special or that they Love about her and Take turns going around the table sharing with her how wonderful she is.

I think that would make her day!  Hearing you are loved is better than any gift.

Have Fun & make her Feel Special!!

  4. have a picnic. have a cake made with her baby picture airbrushed on it.

  5. bring her a cake and sing happy birthday!

  6. Having a funny weird family game of bingo is fun, dancing, kids games, joking around, watching family videos or looking at photo albumns, catching up. In a recent family reuinion we rented a room in the community center, decorated it a little bit (you don't need to do much) and put some music, put a table of food made from everyone, had little prizes, had a pinata, and all caught up or joked around. When youre with family and friends you don't need much to have friends. By the way my best friend was there so like it still wasn't unfun or anything even without her it wouldve been the same

  7. Bring a camera record the events take pics of everyone together and Mom smiling.surrounded by her loved ones ,blowing out candles on her pretty cake, opening presents, and always get a couple of gag gifts(but nice) for fun and surprises  put the best pictures in the local paper and get her a copy & put a loving caption under it  Another special  picture  of Mom surrounded by her family can be blown up, framed and given to her for a special  surprise gift Enjoy your time with Mom with fond memories while you can .. Be cheerful and make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, it is a time for love, sharing ,memories, hugs and smiles  no amount of money can buy that! It is a Kodak moment Relax and have fun..

  8. go to boomers or that one place where you can play games like chucky cheese but for grown ups and you get to eat

  9. find out from the restaurant owners if they can give a special birthday presentation..some restaurants offer these types of services.

  10. Make arrangements to have a family picture done....with all the family there.

  11. Another wonderful 1948 baby boomer! ...  If you're allowed to play your own music there, you should play songs from "our" era:  CCR, Mamas & Papas, Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Airplane, Beatles, Hair, etc....  Use some bright psychedelic flower decorations!  .....  If you're able to show old "home movies," she'd love that too....

  12. you could not show up. works for me.

  13. DO a lil dance and get down tonight

  14. maybe some of you could write a poem about your mom or just give a special speech that is choreographed and for each of you tell one good memory that you have of her and just how much she has meant to you all or influenced you in a special way and/or play some games and here is a link with some party ideas for seniors
