Question:

What can I do with my kitchen waste?

I live in a flat and so don't have a garden. With myself, partner and 2 kids, there's usually a fair amount of food scraps in my rubbish which I would compost if I could. Is there somewhere I can take my food waste so it can be used instead of making my bin smelly and adding to landfill?

  1. In the US, some municipalities have a public compost bin where you can drop off yard wastes.  If your town has this (check with the local landfill or city government), you can collect your scraps and drop-off there.

  2. u live in a flat and hence u along with ur flat members can dig a hole where everyone of u all can put ur kitchenwastes there . after puttin sum earthworms there they wud decompose those wastes to give u all manure known as vermi-compost which u can use as a fuel.

  3. yes! ECONOMIZE ! ! !

  4. you could try having a worm farm!!!

just dump ur scraps in there(NO MEAT)

    and they'll eat it!!

you can collect their poo and wee wee to use as fertilizer and sell it or use it ,but you dont have a garden.

its really good, you should try it!!

  5. Plan meals more carefully to reduce waste and use all leftovers on a timely basis.  Consider installing a garbage disposal unit in your sink.  At least the waste will be properly treated along with sewage.  Consider forming or joining a community garden club that may promote composting and you will also have the advantage of fresh vegetables in season.
