What can I do with my old running shoes?

I'm wondering if there's anywhere to recycle old runners in Vancouver? I don't think they are fit to give to a shelter or somewhere like that - the soles are almost worn through. I'm wondering if there's anywhere that can recycle the rubber/cloth? Or do my Nikes really have to end up in the land fill?

  1. If someone is buying old Nikes, than the next time you buy a new pair, there will be a core charge. LOL

  2. try going to the Nike site and see if they have a local drop off center. They use old shoes to make playground surfaces. Or try www.earth911.org, I don't know if it works in Canada.

  3. If they are a size 9.5 to 11, drop me an email as I can use an old beatup pair for work in the garden. Do not know what the shipping would be though. Read my profile! :)

  4. You can throw them away

  5. you can sell them to places like platos closet, or better yet donate
