What can I do with old aluminum cookware?

My grandmother recently gave me some of her old aluminum cookware that she has used for forty years. Because aluminum can be bad for your health, I can't cook with the pots and pans that she gave me. On the other hand, I don't want to just throw them away. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways that I could recycle/use these items so that I will still have them for sentimental value? I was thinking that perhaps someone could melt one or more of these items down and make something new from it, but I don't know of anyone or any company that offers such services. I'm also thinking that if it comes down to it, I could just recycle the items. Any suggestions?

  1. my grandmother had some old cast iron pans and things that she hung around the top of her kitchen for decoration.  you could clean the pans up if needed and do the same.

  2. You could paint them and make flower pots out of them.
