What I mean is, old clothes, blankets, etc that either have tears or stains that I wouldnt want to sell or give away. Ive heard over and over again to make a quilt. Thats over done. Ive also heard if the fabric is large enough, sew it into a pillow. One thing I did already was make hammocks for my ferrets to sleep in, but what are some other CREATIVE ideas that maybe I havent thought of? Thanks... any ideas or thoughts are welcome.

  1. i think you could make new cloths

    or mak something cool

    like a laptop case.

  2. the sheets are good to turn into rags. you could cut them into strips and they make good ties for tieing up tomatoes and plants to stakes without damaging the plants. the blankets could be cut into teddy bear shapes sew together and filled with cushion stuffing and given to charity. some places recycle clothes into rags for industry. if you have old sheets they can be turned into children's play mat by drawing street scenes etc if you cut them into circular mats and thread a draw string round perimeter and make into child's toy bag that can be quickly drawn together and packed away

  3. You can make a purse out of old long sleeved t-shirts or the butt of old jeans.

Or make a patchwork skirt out of strip of your favorite shirts (almost like a tie skirt, but different material).

You could even try making a braided rag rug out of old material scraps...you can find instructions online.

  4. the ones that have tears and are use less those are fun..cuz u can rip them up and it makes a cool sound lol

  5. Hmmm.....if I were you, I would rather use it in any other kind of thing, as they always say be creative...maybe you are asking what kind of things? so, I will give some example....YOU CAN CONSTRUCT A MAP, BY THE USE OF IT...IT IS VERY EFFECTIVE...OR RESERVE IT FOR SOME OTHER OCCASION, IN OTHER WORDS,KEEP IT...BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME CASE THAT YOU MAY USE IT...HOPE YOU ARE SATISFIED ON MY ANSWER....^___^

  6. hem stuff and tailor it into a vintagey looking piece.

cut off nice parts of the old stuff and use elsewhere

turn strips of fabric into belts or headbands

  7. well you can donate it to stores like a goodwill or you can make picture frames or you can make bracelets with the collars of some shirts

    book covers

    cushions

take a clear headban a wrap a fabric

you can also donate it to homeless people too

if you have a pet you can make them clothing

  8. I cut off buttons and save them, tear shirts into rags for cleaning...keep a few in the car for the occasional cleaning need.

  9. homeless

  10. you can donate them! :c)

if they have tears in them try and sew them togther.

If there is NO WAY that you can save them-- then what ive done in the past is make a quilt-- or any blanket-- and donate that! : )

it may take a while to do, but its a great way of helping out, youll feel great about it! i sure did! Plus its a project to do lol!

    Good luck hon!

  13. Hi sweetaimers21

You could recycle them by giving them to be used as rags for  ...

Or you could make a Poncho out of the old blankets and sell or give them away.

cut hole in center of blanket for head and that's It... slip it on..

  14. You can use them for rags to clean up house! Also you could donate it to some charity like to the homeless i am sure they could use it and they wouldn't mind itf there was stains! If you needed to cover plants up in the winter you could use these clothes too!

  15. Use them as rags for cleaning. Better then cutting down the trees and using paper towel. The pillow idea isn't bad.  Try rag dolls too. or a bag for carrying groceries in.

  17. bandana's, sew them onto an old pair of jeans as a patch, i dont really kno , my mom uses our old clothes as rags that way she doesnt need to buy any. but it sounds like you wanna use them for something that you'll have to show for it. idk use your imagination, make a bracelet or something. sorry i couldnt help more.
