Just asked a question about reusing old printers then thought what can be done with old cartridges. I refill mine and then send them off for recycling but is there anything fun that can be done with them?

  1. PetSmart recycles them as donation for homeless pets. Right at the front door they have bags to put them in for recycle.  Every cartridge or cell phone they get helps them raise money for animals in need. That is what I do with mine.

  2. Yeah you can sell them for money heres a guide on how to below.

Read through the website it tells you many things you can do even save alot of money off them. Make sure to read the officemax section too its a pretty interesting read.

  3. Can't think of anything fun but I have been taking mine to Walgreens for refills and so far, so good.  $10 for black and $15 for Color.  Mine are usually $60 for the set.

  4. I definitely reuse them because it takes less energy and resources to refill your inkjet cartridge than to recycle them.  There are also chances they get shipped to developing countries where they either get recycled there or incinerated.  So yea your doing right by reusing..

  5. I suppose this is not a creative/fun thing, but it is useful!  My daughter's school collects them and earns money for them.  The amount the school makes varies depending on the make/model.  Maybe someone you know is involved in a similar fundraiser?

  6. Well I think it's fun to take them to Office Max (or Office Depot) one or the other takes them back and gives you a store credit of $3-$5 each up to 5 a day. I think it's $3 each. This way you are able to recycle them and be able to pick up a few supplies for FREE!
