Question:

What can I do with the mother cat and her two kittens?

I have a female cat that has been in the family for about 8 years. We

tried getting her spayed, but even with a spaying certificate, we could

still not afford it. She has had two kittens. One of them I have become

very attached to. I have separated that kitten from its brother and

mother and he seems to be doing great, but the mother and brother

stay on the porch and now my mother cat will not use her litterbox

and neither will the other kitten. I've had to clean up quite a mess out

there. I am heartsick, because I feel I may have to give up both the

mother and the other kitten because its taking too much out of me. We have an older male cat in the house and he's not too crazy about the new little kitten I've decided to keep and neither is our dog which

we have had for over 8 years. Have any of you had a similar situation

and what did you do.? I have a bad feling I'll have to give up both the

kittens and the mother and it breaks my heart.

Please, no sarcastic answers. Thanks!

  1. Its terotorial, get another cat tray and put cat nip in both trays

  2. Why would you consider giving away a cat that has been in the family for 8 years and keeping one of her kittens, i don't understand this. Maybe you should give all your cats away because if you can afford the internet and cant afford to get your cat spayed then your not a responsible cat owner, sorry for being honest.

  3. well, as gross as it sounds... as soon as that male kitten hits maturity (about 6 months) he will get the mother pregnant.. if you cannot afford to have these cats, please either find them a better home, or figure out a budget plan with the vet.. You need to find a vet that is willing to accept payment every month, that way you can still get her spayed, and not have to pay the whole amount up front.
