What can I do with this bill?

Today i receive a bill from Gas Company.Well it cost me $9.50 and under that it said i have 89.22CR.And in the paper it said do not pay.So what CR mean and why i don't have to pay?and it happen on the electric bill too.and i don't have to pay for the bill like a month.

  1. Like the other poster said, CR means credit. Sometimes they realize their meter was inaccurate and correct the bill. Sometimes there is a technical error and they overbill you (can happen the opposite way sometimes too unfortunately.)  and sometimes people double pay a bill without realizing it. One way or another, they are saying you have a credit or a negative balance. I would suggest calling the company to make sure it is all accurate but other than that, be glad you get a month off that bill!


  2. Its a credit, it means you must have paid too much before. You do not have to pay anything with a credit balance.

  3. The credit balance could be because you overpaid your previous bill, or they credited you with some interest income for the deposits you placed with them, or perhaps some error or over billing in their previous bill.

    You don't need to pay if it's a credit balance.

  4. You may have over paid on your last statement or if you had to put a deposit when you opened sometimes after a year of good payment they put your deposit toward your bill or may be its just a computer error...
