I should be in contact with a recruiter soon.

Meanwhile I just want to know what I should be preparing for reference and interview-wise. Will I take the ASVAB test sooner rather then later? How long will the application process take?

  1. You fill out the paperwork with your recruiter, he schedules you for your test and physical; the test is a standardize multiple choice test very similar to your ACT or SAT as far as format is concerned (it is multiple choice). It is not difficult because it tests for your talents and your ability to recognize patterns. If you got through High School with a reasonable GPA you should be able to qualify for just about any training program that they have. About a week after the test your recruiter will give you a call and have you come in and you'll find out when they have an availability for Boot Camp and away you go; you'll be in good hands until you ETS (Estimated Time of Separation) Good luck in your career.
