I've been summoned as a juror to U.S. District Court and am wondering what kind of cases are heard here, also if selected how long does jury service usually last? This is such a pain as I just did state jury last month but it doesn't exempt you unless it is for 5 days or more.

  1. If seated, you might hear anything from a bad check case to murder. Jury duty is like a closed toilet door in a public restroom, you never what kind of c**p you will get until you push it open.

  2. Being selected a juror is not one of your greatest presents but the experience should tell you that we do need our peers to determine right from wrong .If we had  more smart ones  O.J. would have been in the pokey years ago.The cases will cover anything from civil actions to murder. You may do nothing but read books for the time you are there. Then again you may be one of the fortunate to hear a good case. and be in on a history making verdict.

  3. u gotta listen

  4. Expect to be picked and participate actively in the proceedings.
