My husband and I are looking to move to London. What can I expect to pay for a modest flat in the city?

When I say Modest, I want something clean and presentable but it does not have to be very big. Just big enough for two people to live comfortably.

  1. I am trying to sell my very nice 2 bedroomed flat in North Acton about 5 mins walk from the tube (Zone 2) and its currently on at £240k...probably about £375-£400k in City

  2. You might consider renting a furnished flat rather than the hassle of buying. Here is an excellent place that I use when living in London:

You can also compare these sabbatical homes:

  3. if you are looking to rent then you are looking at around £1000 - £1500 per month depending on if you want a flat or a bedsit.

  4. Depends very much on the area you choose but certainly more than you would elsewhere in the UK. Starting at £190,000 maybe for a two-bed flat.

Search this site: www.rightmove.co.uk - it'll give you accurate and current prices and show you loads of properties.

It may be better to move to slightly outseide London - say Hertfordshire - and commute in?
