  1. Meals are very reasonable in Italy, good food, plenty of it and wide variety, all readily available and reasonable.

  2. i would say about $25 to $50 because my friend went to Rome and he said that he spent just on him was $35.

  3. I have talked with my friend who is a restaurant consultant in Seattle,WA.  Here is a breakdown as to what you will pay in Rome.

For Lunch expect to pay $5.20-$9.10 with drink.

Dinner will run you about $13.00-$26.00.

Tipping is customary in Rome.  But, waiters are well paid so if you left a tip of $1.30 that would be considered good.

  4. That depends on what type of meal you want to have.  I was there last December, so here goes:

    1.  If you want a simple bowl of pasta or a sandwich (which are great!  rustic breads, fresh mozza , prosciutto, etc), you can get one at a "bar" for between 4-8 euros .  That is about $6-$12 Canadian.

A Roman bar is similar to our Starbucks...coffee, food, cigarettes, wine...

    2. If you want a restaurant meal, theses can vary widely, depending how fancy you want to get (just like here!)    For a casual  meal, expect to pay between 11- 25 euros ($16-38 Canadian)

We had a fabulous meal for 11euros each, but it was only one course, plus one glass of wine

You should know that in Rome, it is typical to order more than one course.  Pasta is usually a first course (primi piatti), followed by a meat course (secondi). The meat course includes only the meat.  If you want vegetables with it, you must order them separately (contourni).

  5. depends on where you want to eat.

  6. Check a travel site. Or, visit your local travel agency.
