Question:

What can I expect to pay in terms of rent for an apartment in Buenos Aires?

I am looking for an unfurnished 1-bedroom apartment or studio, ideally around 50 square meters and in Palermo or Barrio Norte (all though I would definitely take other safe barrios into consideration) for an indefinite period of time. The ads for temporrary furnished places you find all over the place are not helpful in this regard. What would an apartment like this typically go for, including all extra costs (cleaning the stairs, taking away the trash, taxes, utilities). Yes, and I know it's hard for foreigners because I own no property in BsAs, but I would put up a big deposit if necessary.

  1. I was looking the prices at clarin.com , go to inmuebles and then select Barrio Norte , there are Prices going from 300 U$S to 700 and more, 1amb is a studio, usually 2ambs is 1bed and 3 ambs 2 beds. You are looking for an 1or 2 amb

Expenses varies a lot , cheaper the rent cheaper the expenses (usually) but would be 50 U$S.

    Go to :

  2. For short stays ( I mean less than 2 years) the main agencies charge around 300/ 400 us$ per week for a 50 sqmt apartment.

  3. In Palermo o Barrio Norte, also consider Recoleta, which is safe also.  You should contact a local Inmobiliaria( real state) look it up in the net, here is a link to the argentinian yellow pages..

Once you reach a regular Inmobiliaria, they would be able to help you....

    Good luck!!!
