I know that most boys aren't into collectible things-like girls are-but... I'd like to get my son something every year from my husband and I for Christmas. Not a train though. Any ideas?

  1. i would go with ornaments get a different one every year with  his name and date (lillianvernon.com has some good ones but they also have  some at the craft store you can paint yourself)

  2. beer

  3. my parents always got us a christmas tree ornament every year (including one for my brother). he didn't care at first, but now he is 26 and he hangs every one on his christmas tree at his own house. It's a nice tradition I think.

  4. An alternative to ornaments is to add a figure to a nativity scene every year.   Kids love setting them up every year and when he's an adult he'll have a beautiful and huge set.  They really come in a range of prices.

  5. Does his room have a theme??? My sons room is Johne Deere and we do this every year as well, he gets some kind of collectable. If you like this idea you could start the first year off with the basic room decor and then each year add to it???

    hats

    matchbox cars

    sports cards/ memorabilia??

This is actually a tough one???

  6. Share of stock-perhaps in mattel, nike or what ever they are into at the moment. Perhaps they may not get it now...but when it is time to cash in those shares they will. Also when they are old enough it will get them inerested in investing.,

  7. my husband's parents always got him hot wheels. some he opened, some he didn't. now he has a fantastic collection that he really treasures!
