  1. Quiche and a fruit salad would be filling not too heavy and if by some chance they arent hungry they can hae t for breakfast.

I would do a simple ham and cheese quiche..............6 eggs, 2 cups cheese, 1 cup diced ham and handful of chopped green onions pour it into a pie crust and bake it. It stores good and reheats easily so you wouldnt have to worry about keeping it warm in case they were delayed.

Have a great visit with them!

  2. most people  r uhungry when coming from a trip  so i suggest  maybe    a side salad  some  rice  n  turkey or  fish or what ever meat ulike  or slice ham with some gravy    but  to add a bonus  set up  a nice bath n some  time alone to sleep cuz they gonna be tired

  3. It will depend upon what time they arrive and how tired they are.

I would have a Shepherd's Pie ready, to heat and eat.

    Shepherd’s Pie.

    1 minced onion

    1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce

    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

    3 c. minced cooked lamb

    1 1/2 tsp. salt

    1/4 c. hot milk

    6 med. peeled boiled potatoes

    1 slightly beaten egg

    4 tbsp. butter

    1 1/2 c. gravy

    1/4 tsp. pepper

Sauté onion in 1 tablespoon butter until soft, but not brown. Remove from heat; mix in meat, gravy, pepper and Worcestershire sauce, and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Beat until fluffy potatoes, remaining salt, and butter, pepper, and hot milk. Put meat mixture in 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Top with fluffy potatoes, score with fork to make a pattern. Brush with egg. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

If made with beef mince it would be a Cottage Pie.

or a lighter meal like a Frittata.

    Frittata:- Vegetable.

    500g Frozen Mixed Vegetables. (thawed)

    6 Eggs. (whisked)

    1 Onion. (sliced)

    1-2 Cloves Garlic. (crushed)

Soften onions and garlic in a little oil and add the vegetables. Season to taste and spread out evenly.

Pour in the whisked eggs and let them work their way through the vegetables.

Cook gently until the bottoms of the eggs are set.

Transfer to a preheated oven and grill (broil) until the top is set.

Serve onto a plate and cut like a pizza.

(you will need to use a frying pan with a heat proof handle, or protect it with a bit of foil)

Both will keep for a day or two, so they needn't be wasted.

  4. Why not just ask your parents what they would like. tell that that you want to make something special for them, and you want to make something they love, and ask them if they want a big meal after the long trip or if they just want light snacks and want to save the big meal for the next day.

  5. I think they need something better than a fruit salad - maybe that would be a good desert.

Fix a one dish meal that is easy to serve and will keep if they are running late.

  6. Depending on what time of the day it is when they are to arrive, I would serve them a time appropriate meal, something comforting and not fancy. A salad and a light pasta dish for dinner, or a salad with chicken strips if it's lunchtime, for breakfast, make it pancakes and scrambled eggs.
