My son has diarrhea for months and I took him to the pedi and she just said to limit the juices. My son drinks like a fish and would rather live on an all liquid diet. Well, we did that and it didn't help. I put him on some pedilyte yesterday and today and no he's still have frequent stools (anywhere from 5-7 poops a day) but it's chalky.

  1. I would take him back to the doctor. Months is way to long to say its just juice. Also, the B.R.A.T diet for kids with diarrhea. Bananas, rice, apples/applesauce and toast.

  2. well i would make it water instead of other juices. also milk etc.

some kids just have really runny stools. i guess pedialyte every few hrs, but unless he is becoming dehydrated i wouldnt be overly concerned.

things that can help are cheese and yogurt, as well as rice, and banana. they are natural things that can help harden it.

    good luck,

  3. If your doctor is telling you juice is the source of your son's problems - the only way to know for sure is to eliminate it from his diet.

Ask your doctor if he/she feels that acidopholus pills would help.  They are sold over the counter in the refrigerated section in the health food stores to help the balance of good bacteria in the stomach.

  4. my nephew is intolerant of milk. if he has milk or anything containing milk, he gets the runs.

it might be worth asking your doctor if you can cut out milk and dairy stuff for a week to see if improves him.
