I have a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier. My problem is is that when i am driving my car the gage pushes to or close to F. Often when I stop completely it SOMETIMES goes back to it's proper place. Also when I put a little gas in it right after when i start it up it goes to its proper place. but the problem it that it doesnt stay their ESPECIALLY if I have little gas in it. What can this problem be?

  1. It is a ground problem. you can take the tank down and clean the connections or you can get an after market replacement one, well you still need to take down the tank . or just watch your mileage.

  2. replace fuel gauge

  3. The fuel sending unit in the gas tank.

  4. There's nothing you can do. It's just GM using cheap parts in their cars.

Be happy it works at all !
