Question:

What can I hang clothes on at my yard sale?

I'm racking my brain, trying to come up with something to hang the clothes on, rather than lying them on a table. I'm convinced that if I hang them, it will be easier for people to look through them, therefore leading to more sales!! Any clever ideas??

  1. Do have something you could run a laundry line from?  Just like laundry lines in people's yards - you just hang hangers on them instead of using clothespins.  Clothes do sell better if they are hung, in my opinion.  Most people rummage through them and mess them up and then its impossible to look for sizes - if you display them nicely, it makes easier for people to find sizes they need.  And, its cheap!

You can buy those portable rolling laundry wracks, but they can be expensive.  We bought one to use at a Garage Sale a few years back, and the darn thing broke.  It was brand new and cost about $50.  Laundry line is cheap and durable, and you can take it down as easily as you put it up.

    Good luck!

  2. A portable clothes rack from Wal-mart.

  3. ~~You can tie a strong rope between trees if possible and hang on that. Also if you can open your garage door, there is a wire that runs down the bottom of the door which makes a great hanger.~~

  4. String a clothesline, real tight and hang on that.  I actually have a clothes rack for that, you can get the cheap!  Borrow one from a store.

  5. try hangers

  6. i have a cheap shower rod that spans a good 60 inches. if you have a couple trees close enough to hang that on, the rod doesn't make all the hangers slide to the middle. i have used wire and attached it from the patio cover as well, which provided a 'back wall' to the sale area.
