Can anyone think of some ways, other than a classic car, in which to arrive to my wedding? I would like something different, even outrageous!!

I want it to be a memorable day with weird things all the way through the day! lol,

If anyone has some good things I can also include in my wedding I would be really grateful! I want it to be nice, but I want our families to laugh and it to be different.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your thoughts Will choose a best answer.

  1. You could rent a 1950's convertible with fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror. It could be blaring the old 50's song that goes, "Take me to the chapel cause I want to get married..." You could have the driver wearing a bright colored bowling shirt or hawaiian shirt with his hair moussed into a 50's pompadour style and wearing big sunglasses. That would be funny and really a hoot for the parents to see!! : D

For the wedding, you and your husband could take dance lessons and do a really funny dance for the traditional first dance, too. There is a TV show where people do that and the people at the reception LOVE it. Be sure to take video of it, if you do that. What a great memory!! : P

  2. I would say a horse and carriage too

  3. I totally understand wanting to be different.  I've packed my upcoming weekend with creative, non-traditional, but still classy surprises as well.

Do you have a theme for your wedding?  For instance, since my fiance is from San Diego and I live in SC (and my parents have a beach house in Surfside, SC), we're using some shells to decorate and I think we'll give them shell ornaments to tie in our "Coast to Coast" theme.  Do you have a theme like that, however subtle, that you could play off for transportation?

Another thought I had was that you could arrive in an ice cream truck and let that be part of your dessert or even your favor.  You can probably personalize ice cream packages or even have an ice cream sundae bar set up, with everyone getting ice cream scoops as their favor, using a ribbon to dress it up.

I think if I were you, I would want to tie my entrance in with the rest of my wedding in some way, so it doesn't just look tacky.  If you have some type of theme, every crazy, outrageous surprise you plan will still have a wonderful cohesiveness.

Here are some sites you may want to check out, if you like the ice cream idea:

  4. parachute in

i know a limo is still a car, but hire a small "paparazzi" and have the chauffeur roll out a red carpet to walk down before your actual aisle. Wear some big sunglasses, too.

Since the bride is the "celebrity" of any wedding, it will definitely make a statement.

  5. Horse drawn carriages aren't that unusual. You could see if any companies would let you decorate it.

You could also get a ridiculously huge limo, like a stretch hummer or something similar. YOu could also try and get a brightly colored limo Some people would get those without trying to look silly, but it would be an over the top thing that you could laugh about.

This may be hard to find, but you could try a clown car. You could also just make your own by renting a really small colorful car, decorating it, and try and hiding your wedding party somehow and then all get out of it.

  6. Horses, carriage, clown car, party bus, girl limo, scooters, motorcycle... if you're looking to rent any of these you can look in the transportation section of your yellow pages.

  7. I think the classic car and limo are definitely out for you if you're looking for something different. A lot of people want the horse and carriage, but that's very traditional.

I don't know where you are from, but you and your bridal party could make a float, like one you would see in a parade. Maybe see if a marching band or others could lead you to your reception. You'd really have a "bridal march" You could decorate it with your overall theme of the wedding. It would definitely be different and fun at the same time! Plus a lot of people could ride the float with you if you wanted. You could also throw candy out to the people that are coming outside to see whats going on.

Sometimes people have a firetruck bring them to their reception. If you and your significant other like golf, you could get some golf carts. An old school ice cream truck, the ones that play music. That would be funny. Some people I know rode in a semi to their reception. It all depends on what you are into.
