What can I have my bridesmaids carry down the aisle?

I am getting married January 31, 2009. My fiance and I are getting married at centre ice of an arena, but other than that, it is still a very classic and tradional wedding. Formal attire, formal decorations, the whole nine yards. I am wearing an off-white wedding dress with a faux fur wrap and carrying a bouquet of roses. My bridesmaids are wearing a black floor length dress with a hot pink sash. They are going to have black wraps and black gloves. What can I have them carry down the aisle? I don't really want them to carry flowers if I can help it. Does anyone have any season appropriate original ideas for me?

How about candles and you can have them light them right before you repeat your vows to each other . I think it adds romance a little more like this or have them light them during the kiss.

why don't they just carry nothing.  it seems like they have a lot going on with their dresses and sashes.  so i think it would be perfect to carry nothing.  just have them put their free hand on the groomsmans arm.  i think that would be perfect and very unique.

I know a lot of people are mentioning candles but. Why dont you look into ice branch bouquets? They are very, very pretty. They would fit with the season, look like a bouquet, are sort of edgy, but look very formal and elegant. I cant find a good picture in Google search. It's a faux tree branch, bare. with these "crystals" of ice stuck all over them. You can find them in with the fake flowers at places like Michaels or Hobby Lobby. It sort of, a little bit, looks like a HUGE piece of white rock candy (You know the kind, where you hang the stick in a jar of sugar water?) Its really very pretty, and can be DIY very easily and cheaply. Just make a bunch and wrap them with pretty pink ribbon!!!

Well how about a decorative fan, I snow flake in pink, They could always carry pink and off white bows, a small bowl with a candle in it (tea light preferably) So the can carry a small tall vase with pink or white  and in the bottom with a tea light in pink or white sitting on top! how about a decorative garland. If I come up with more I let you know!  

My girls and I had flowers but we had sea shells is in between to! They wer so cute my florist was wonderful.

What would be super unique is to carry a candle.  But the twist is for it to be carried in a special way.  For example, have them be "floating candles" by putting a tealight in a small glass bowl, tinting the water of the bowl to match their pink sash.  When they get to the front (or center of the ice arena), have a special table for them to put it on.  If you would like, have those symbolically be their good wishes for you, and if you decide to light a unity candle, light your candle with the flames from each of theirs.  It would look really pretty.

A candle?  They have one's that operate with a battery (that people can put in their windows), so nobody would have to worry about hot wax dripping on them or the flame blowing out on the way.
