What can I invest in that will also pay dividends?

I have heard that it's good buy into investments that pay dividends.

   Bank stocks like BAC and BBT are paying nice dividends right now, and the shares look cheap at the current prices. These are both good banks. The Canadian Oil Trusts pay nice dividends, but with the economies around the world going down, oil should follow, so these stocks could drop more.

   USA is the symbol for a closed fund that trades on the stock exchange and has a good dividend. If you think the economy in the US will turn up, you could buy USA at a low price now and sell it at a higher price later. While waiting to sell, you would collect the dividend.

   There are many stocks that pay dividends. The ones mentioned pay higher dividends than most.

i agree with john, also i would recommend an online brokerage firm that has good beginner qualitys {like tutorials or an easy to understand set up}, i use zecco, better then schwab, etrade, etc. they are the only ones with free stock trades, no minumums..all the others will charge you fees for trading, but compare and see for yourself. blue chip stocks (large companies)

if a company has a history of paying dividends, it will most likely continue to do so

Take a look at www.dividenddetective.com   They list different types of companies and give the dividends, too.

Myself...I like HTE a Canadian Trust...and some of the "shippers" FRO, DSX and TRMD
