I fired for gross & minor misconduct and insubordination. I continue to receive harassing texts and emails. I know I can say I would NOT hire back, but can I disclose why she was fired? I need FACTS only-nothing about Freedom of Speech. I know there are things I cannot say...what are they?

  1. you can confirm employment, dates of employment and title while employed. that is it.

  2. Legally you cannot say you would Not hire them back.

The idea of calling a former employer is to verify the information listed on the resume is accurate.  You can verify the employment dates, job title, and job functions.
