  1. BUTTER CHICKEN, NHAN BREAD AND YOGHURT

  2. most things that come with a coconut sauce are generally quite mild

  3. They might have a mild curry dish.  Very yummy!

  4. butter chicken is always a winner. raita is a very cooling yoghurt sauce that will help cool down any curry that is too hot

  5. From spicy you mean HOT right?

You can have them make your dishes mild instead of hot. It is mainly a matter of not adding chillies there.  All Indian food is made with spices, not just salt and black pepper as in the traditional North American food.  That is what it give the meal it various flavors.  For example, you can cook potatoes over a hundred different ways just by the combination of spices you add into the mix, and they would all taste different.

  6. try a Korma it is usually a mild flavorful dish... chicken, or veg, ask for mild

    Vidaloo is usually hot (spicy)

  7. Tandoori chicken with puri-puri

  8. butter chicken

    it's not spicy at all

  9. For a long time, I was fearful of the same thing, but fortunately my local eatery allows diners to specify the level of spicy they like. I found their 'mild' to actually be a bit too mild for me and now I go mostly with 'medium.'

A few guidelines for avoiding too spicy: Vindaloo dishes tend to be hotter than everything else I order. Korma dishes tend to be milder, as do tikka masalas (which aren't traditional Indian dishes, according to Wikipedia, but tasty just the same). Dishes that are grilled, or in the Tandoor style are often highly flavorful without bringing the heat.

Or -- if you prefer -- you can always try multiple appetizer-type food. Samosas (the ones I've had are like mixed vegetable dumplings or popovers served with a plum-based sauces), chat papri (almost like a cool salsa with chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, sometimes potatoes, yogurt, some type of chutney) and pakora (they're like deep-fried veggie fritters) would probably be more than enough for a meal for one.

  10. Pick any dish you want and ask them the make it mild.  They don't neccesarily have to put pepper in it to make it spicy.

  11. bread and water

  12. most indian restaurants can guide you and should be able to make anything mild (within reason). Kormas are very mild, creamy based sauce, Mango curry too. Tikka Marsala is spicer, internationally known and loved. The meat is marinated and so has a flavoursome but mild taste, again the sauce is cream and yogurt based. Any indian afficionardo will tell you to have a yogurt drink at hand. Water actually makes spices stronger, alkaline drinks neutralise any heat (as does sugar).

  13. try orange juice :D heheh..

  14. I think you shoud try MASALA DOSA,you would surely like it.

  15. idly + sambar

  16. Kaopectate
