I'm in southern california, the weather is very dry. What can I grow in my backyard now?

  3. I live in NY and I see how you always have fires there. I think your question is too vague. You need to tell me what you normally grow and what are you looking to grow flowers, or  vegetables, or what? If you modify your question I promise to modify my answer! Thanks!

    edit add: I think that should be fine but its starting to get a little late to plant because most plants don't do well in the fall because of the lack of light hours. They want more than 8 hours of sunlight a day.

    BTW, Seeds are getting so excellent these days that I would recommend buying any vegetable seeds you want this year- for next years garden- when the local garden centers have them on clearance. We are about to have an Economic Depression and we will need to grow our own food for a few years. So getting seriously into gardening is a great idea!
