What can I pour in the garbage to make this nosy garbage picker regret reaching in there (safe and non-smelly)

Question

Ok, this guy I work with rummages through all the garbage cans in the morning hoping to come across some important piece of information that isn't being shared with him.

My goal is to s***w with him. He's a rather dirty fella to begin with so pouring oil or some other dirty substance in there isn't going to make him regret reaching in; it might actually make him do it more.

So what should I pour in there? Something very difficult to remove would be great. In fact, I was thinking, if there is something that would color his hands red for a day, that would be hilarious in and of itself..

So..

Any ideas?

A big huge vibrator, rub some tuna and a white powder substance on it cornstarch works real good, you could even color ir red to make it look real nasty. I had a landlord who used to come in my place while i was gone, so i took some vegetable oil and cornstarch and rubbed it all over this ridiculously huge gag gift vibrator a friend gave me and i left it sittin right out in the open so she would see it and stop taken her snoopin *** back in my house,

If you can prep the can fairly soon before he actually goes into it, I would go with iodine. Saturate a newspaper with it then wrap it around some other printer type paper. When he opens it, it should stain his hands.

If that doesn't work, I'd take an early morning walk around your neighborhood and bring in some fresh dog c**p!

Well I'm Not An Expert On This Stuff But Perhaps Some Inhumane Color Of Dye Might Work?

I'm Not So Sure though

It Might Dry Up Unless It's Rather Humid Where You're At

But If You Do

Be Sure To Get An Oil Based Kind Though.
