My mother gave me the old fish tank, since I have expressed interest in caring for some aquatics. I've done hamsters in the past, which I still do, but I'd like to do some aquatic as well.

The fish tank I've been given is about a foot and a half high, a foot and a half wide and two feet long. I don't want to crowd animals, and due to my skill level, if it's a really complicated fish (like a tropical or something), I'd like to start with something I'm less likely to kill.

Can you even put anything in a tank this small? I think it's 10 gallons, but I'm not sure.

  1. Gold Fish!

I got a couple and they are cheap, easy, and I think pretty cool.

  2.     you can start with any thing you want to. But the first thing you need to do is clean the tank. make sure the are no chemicals left in it. Then does it have a filtering system with it. Next if it has gravel in it you will need to boil it to make sure there is no bacteria in it. Next fill the tank then start filter. let it run for two days then go get a couple of feeder gold fish. They cost verry little so you won't be out much if they die. The next thing is go buy a book. My first was (Exotic Aquarium Fish) WalMart will have it. Rasing aquarium fish is easy after you get the tank set up right. you will need to learn about ph, hardness, and lots of other things. But I tink its fun. I have two fifty gal. Hope I haven't scared you off.
