Question:

What can I put on my hair to protect it from the heat before I use my flat iron?

Preferably drug store brands, but I'm open to anything really (if it is a good product). Thanks!!

  1. Good conditioning of your hair is the best protectant. Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Conditioner not only repairs years of damage to your hair, but also it is a great protectant for hair that is heat treated on a regular basis. Its also good to make sure your hair is damp when you straighten it. it keeps the hair from frying and drying out. I don't use pre-heat serums because they make my hair feel too oily or sticky, but every person's hair is different.  I prefer my straightened hair to be free flowing like it was naturally straight. I have medium curly, hard to straighten hair.


  2. I use FX Special Effects Heat protector.  Keeps your hair very healthy, smells great, and gives your hair a nice shine.  I got mine from Sallys Beauty but you may be able to find it elsewhere. It sells for about $5.99.

  3. tres seme (idk how to spell that sorry haha) but that brand makes a spray that protects your hair from heat from straightners and it also has mademy hair sofer. The bottle is black with a red spray nozzle if that helps
