How much do you think I can improve by. This season has been going great for me. I'm a soph and my best time last year was a 2:27. Then I ran a 2:24, 2:18, 2:17, and I just Pr'd with a 2:13this year. What do you think I can get it down to by the end of this year?

  1. wow thats really good... youre doing great!

i think you have the motivation to improve, but the problem with beinng fast, is that it getsharder and harder to improve..

if i were you a good goal would be to break 2.10...

    that would be awesome...

    good luck!

  2. Sadly the 800m doesn't work like the mile does where you can still shave off multiple seconds a race. about where you are is where shaving down time gets much harder. Looking at how much time you've already dropped you might be able to be around 2:10 which you kind of already are. But once you hit that it's going to become much harder to drop your time, and a lot of other factors are going to come into play ( like your 400m time).

  3. I think at best you can bring that time down to 2:00 flat but idk what really fast times are considered for the 800. i do know you're getting very fast with it so it is very hard to improve your time now but i think you should be able to shave off 5 - 13 seconds.

  4. I would think about 2:10, maybe once you are running times like that it makes it much harder to improve because running a second faster is huge

  5. By the end of the season you probably have a good chance of being close to 2:00-2:10.

  6. i dont think your time will get any better than it is atm. by the end of the year it will probably have gone up coz you would have gained more muscle in your legs and would have been told to cut down on the amount of training you are doing. but your time should still be good by the end of the year.
