He wrote me a note telling me his life story and told me that he is paralyzed since he was 15.....he is 50 years old now. I am at a loss of words and I don't want to sound like an idiot when I write him back. =[

  1. just talk to him like you would anyone Else.[he is no different!]

  2. well don't patronize him just show him you are sorry and that you are there for him

  3. unlucky

  4. Follow his lead and don't delve deeply into his problem. The last thing he needs is someone who feels sorry for him, and then take him down the path to feel the same for himself. Converse by writing to him as a friends who knows a lot about him and cares about his well being. The topic can be handled by him, and you can answer minimally about his life as a person who is compassionate but not self indulging. Don't let the tongue tied get in the way. Write about his interest while lightly covering yours, so he feels it's not all about him. Let him play that out and your writing will follow a sense able pattern of thoughts.....
