I am cooking a roast vegetable lasagna for a dinner party. As the lasagna is full of vegetables, should I still serve it with a side salad? If so, does anyone have any suggestions? I have my boss and his wife coming over so I am trying to impress!

  1. i would serve it with a side salad and some garlic bread.  You can buy the garlic bread already frozen from the supermarket and just put it in the oven and its yummy! Good luck! =)

  2. Salad and/or bread.  A salad is ok because the veggies are fresh and crisp vs. cooked and soft, it's got a different flavor.

  3. Garlic or Sourdough bread and a salad too.  I'd say a caesar salad, or some kind of vinaigrette dressing.

    Or maybe gnocchi?

  4. How about some Texas Toast and a light soup?  And for dessert, cherry cheesecake or fruit salad.

  5. Try breaksticks, so they are small, and individual

  6. You definitely want a leafy green salad (and garlic bread!). Lasagna is wonderful, but a rather dull color, so on the lettuce salad, use sliced boiled eggs, red tomatoes, carrot slices and, maybe, black olives. Think COLOR and you're usually on the right track. Keep the dressings light (rather than creamy) : a bit of extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a touch of oregano and salt. Garlic bread? Yes, please. Spread butter, garlic and parmesan on two half-loaves and after toasting under the broiler to a golden color, slice rather thinly, so people feel free to try a piece to sop up the juice on their plates. They can always keep reaching for more. I would! Enjoy your party.

  7. make some garlic bread and instead of a second side make a dessert!
