Question:

What can I take for my severe headaches, caused by withdrawal from my Zoloft medication?

I've slowly reduced my Zoloft dosage from 50 mg down to nothing, and now I'm suffering from the most intense headaches I've ever had in my life. The headaches are focused around my eyes and also the back of the head, and are accompanied by dizziness, blurred vision, etc. Nothing I take seems to decrease the headaches.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice on an over-the-counter pain killer that will help with this headaches & vertigo? Thanks!

  1. advil or motrin

  2. Honestly there isn't much you can do except wait it out.

Drink lots of water and eat salty things...even if you don't feel hungry.

You should feel better in a few days...

  3. I would of at least weened myself off slower by taking the 25 mg for awhile, the side affects are less severe with each decreasing dose.Your doctor will prescribe you something to ease these effects, something that is not addictive.

  4. It's not a bad idea to ask others who may have experienced this but if I were you I'd just go see my Doctor right away and tell him about it. If the headaches are so bad, why aren't you in the E.R. like, right now? They are more qualified than anyone on these sites unless they are Doctors or health care professionals themselves.
